Tasting Counter


Experiential dining is at the heart of what we do at Tasting Counter. In addition to our 9-course tasting menus – the cornerstone of Tasting Counter – we also love creating other ways to experience fine dining, natural beverages, and polished hospitality at a variety of price points and levels of formality. From exploring the woods outside of Boston with a celebrated forager, to checking out a chef takeover during wine bar for a one-night-only event, we strive to provide guests with memorable dining experiences.   Wine Dinners

In December, we are excited to host an Alsatian wine dinner! The team will welcome Lyle Railsback of Kermit Lynch Wines, who, alongside Beverage Director Merrick Gilroy, will pour wines from a selection of Alsace’s most storied and exclusive winemakers to be paired with each course- some courses will include side-by-side pairings to fully explore the nuances of Alsatian wines include lesser known varietals. Guests will have the opportunity to discover the flavors of Alsace from some of our favorite wines made by farmers of the region like Albert Boxler, Domaine Ostertag and Meyer-Fonné.

We're traveling to the fairy tale region of France with its rich volcanic soil and culturally Germanic heritage on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 6pm!

  Foraging Dinners

Learn all about the wild edible ingredients we find right here in New England with Tyler Akabane of Mushrooms For My Friends. This is a unique opportunity to experience New England’s wild bounty and how the culmination of these ingredients creates a unique culinary experience. Join us for our Winter Foraging Event & Dinner on Sunday, January 26, 2020!

  Wine Bar Takeover

Wine Bar Takeover at Tasting Counter is just that… a takeover! It’s a monthly guest chef series which takes place during our Tuesday Wine Bar service (4pm-12am). We invite our industry friends to come “take over our menu” for a one-night-only special event, mixing it up culinarily while still spotlighting our collection of natural wines which we’ve paired with everything at these Takeovers from Nashville Hot Fried Chicken to Singaporean cuisine! In December, we will have a first- our own pastry chef Kevin Halim will be taking over the menu and in January we can’t wait to welcome celebrated Boston Chef Eric Frier of Neptune Oyster.
