To our friends, our guests, and our community...We hope that you and your loved ones are safe, healthy, and staying as sane as possible! We closed our doors on March 17, along with the rest of the world, in the state-mandated effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Our top priority has always been the safety and well-being of our team, our guests, and our community. Over these past two months, the words of concern and encouragement you have sent from near and far mean the world to us. During times like this, we are comforted by these acts of kindness and support, reminding us how small the world really is and how essential our community is. It has been a devastating experience... but we will get through it!Our mission, as we phase into the "new normal," remains at the core of our concept: create experiential dining events that connect our guests with our chefs through a constantly evolving, locally sourced, seasonal menu. We live to delight our dedicated guests (you!), so we are very excited to share our newest venture... TC@Home: An interactive virtual dining experience, which continues the TC mission of bringing guests closer to the process of cooking, while giving our guests and chefs the ability to interact with each other. Read more below on how to participate in TC@Home and other ways to support Tasting Counter right now. Many of you have been with us since the very beginning and we can't wait to welcome you back once we can open our doors again. Many thanks for your support and we are looking forward to seeing you all soon!Peter & Ginhee

Over these two hours, Chef Peter Ungár will guide you on how to prepare and plate these dishes, all while enjoying the fruits of our labor with each other in this new norm of virtual social distancing!Join us this FRIDAY, MAY 29 and SATURDAY, MAY 30 for our inaugural TC@Home experiences! We will continue to cook up unique experiences which will be available soon... stay tuned!
HOW IT WORKS
Book your interactive virtual dining experience – Select the date and time most convenient for you. Dining experiences are two hours in length (6-8 pm) and will be held every Friday and Saturday via Zoom. During this experience, you will prepare and plate three courses featuring locally sourced, seasonal ingredients alongside Chef Ungár. All ingredients will arrive pre-portioned, with only some light preparation required, which Chef Ungár will guide you through step-by-step during the experience.
Add a beverage (pairing) – Recreate your favorite TC experience by adding a bottle (or two) of natural wine, premium sake, craft beer, or handcrafted non-alcoholic beverage from our newly minted TC Cellar. As always, our beverage team is happy to curate beverage pairings for you! Please note that Massachusetts law limits restaurant sales of wine, beer, and sake to two 750 ml. bottles of wine and/or sake, and 192 ounces of beer. To purchase pairings of wine or sake for all 3 courses, please make 2 separate purchases within the same household to maintain these limits per transaction.
Pickup or Delivery – Your dining experience is inclusive of all the ingredients needed to create your three-course menu. Your safety is our top priority, so both options are contactless. Select the option most convenient for you to get ready to cook and dine alongside Chef Ungár! To ensure the high quality of the ingredients you are receiving, pickup and delivery will occur on the day of your scheduled interactive virtual dining experience.
Equipment Check – After your purchase, you will receive an email with a list of recommended basic kitchen equipment, as well as the video link you will use to join Chef Ungár via Zoom. The only tech you will need for the course is a laptop, tablet, or phone with sound, a camera (most devices have built-in cameras), and internet access.
Day of your Experience – Receive your ingredient meal kit and then join the Zoom call at 6pm! The course will commence with a 15-minute meet-and-greet so we can all welcome each other and make sure we are all prepared to begin. During this time, our staff will be happy to help troubleshoot any technical issues. And then get ready to cook and dine with Chef Ungár!
Relive your Experience – At the conclusion, you will receive a video recording of your TC@Home interactive virtual dining experience as a souvenir!

Many of our guests often inquire about taking home one of the unique beverages just enjoyed during their lunch or dinner experience. While we have been forced to say "NO" until now, the rules have changed so we are now delighted to say "YES"! Our natural wines, premium sakes, craft beers, and handcrafted non-alcoholic beverages are now all available for purchase via our website. Visit TC Cellar for more information and find your favorites!
