See what's new this Winter at Tasting Counter...

As we begin the New Year, we wanted to share some reflections on the past year at Tasting Counter... it's been a busy 12 months! We expanded service hours for Natural Wine Bar and launched our "Meet the Maker" wine nights, where we welcomed some of our favorite natural wine makers from around the world throughout the year.A staff outing in the summer brought us to Wild Acres Farm in Chester, MA, where we picked blueberries, sampled blueberry wine, and learned about harvesting maple syrup. Since Tasting Counter opened in 2015, Wild Acres Farm has faithfully taken every single kitchen scrap for composting, which is then used to grow produce for the restaurant.Another staff outing in the fall took us to the Middlesex Fells on a foraging expedition to identify local mushrooms and collect other local ingredients, such as pine needles for our amazing pine vinegar. We sold out of 3 batches of our homemade hot sauce, with more in the works for the New Year, as we plan on expanding our online market to include more products from the Tasting Counter kitchen. We celebrated accolades and recognition in 2017 in some of our favorite publications:• Second-year-in-a-row win in Boston Magazine's Best of Boston: Fine Dining Restaurant. • Renzell named us the #1 restaurant in Boston (while also scoring #1 in 6 of 8 categories!).• Opinionated About Dining (OAD) listed us #45 in their top U.S. restaurants (find us between San Francisco's COI and Atelier Crenn!).It's an exciting time at Tasting Counter and we can't wait to show you what's in store! We hope to see you at our counter for lunch, dinner, or Wine Bar soon!

Natural wine is certainly not something new, but it's quickly becoming a cultural movement (Bon Appetit named it the Drink of the Year!) and we're excited for these unfiltered, fresh, fruity, and alive wines to have their moment... and then some.Since launching Natural Wine Bar in 2016, we expanded service this past year to 5 nights a week, including opening on Tuesdays at 5PM. With our expanded hours we launched our monthly, Meet the Maker events and welcomed wine makers from around the world (from Orinda, CA to Friuli, Italy), giving our guests a chance to connect with the people behind the bottle. Some of our favorite publications even took notice! Bon Appetit and The Boston Globe recognized our Wine Bar as a place where natural wines and shared plates come together. Well... naturally!
